Agile 2006 Conference Day 1
After leaving Des Moines at 8:00am I arrived at the Hyatt Hotel in Minneapolis for the Agile 2006 Conference. The afternoon session that I attended was the "Intro to Agile Session". I am currently trying to introduce agile into a company and thought it would be interesting to see how someone else presents it. I got a few new tips from the presenter, Hebert Smits, and might write about them after the conference is over.
In the evening was an "Ice Breaker" event at the hotel ballroom. I was privledged enough to meet Jeff Sutherland, one of the creators of SCRUM. We had an interesting discussion regarding a paper he had submitted to the conference.
I also met Jim Highsmith, signer of the Agile Manifesto and James Shore who is showing off his new project Card Meeting. He was gracious enough to give me a sneak peak at it and I think it is pretty nifty. Kind of an XP collaboration tool for distributed teams.
That is all for Day Number One. Off to bed to get ready for a fully day tomorrow.
